There are two turkey hunting seasons. One is in the spring, and one is in the fall. Since there is a lot of other game that is hunted during the fall a lot of hunters choose to hunt other game in the fall and hunt turkey in the spring. But some hunters love going out and hunting for the Thanksgiving and Christmas turkeys and prefer to hunt in the fall. It\'s really a matter of personal preference and where you live.

Hunting seasons usually last for about a month and vary by state. If you want to know when each of the turkey hunting seasons is in your state or in a state that you want to hunt in you can find out online when each state holds turkey hunting seasons.

Where to go turkey hunting depends a lot on what type of turkey you want to catch. Some breeds of wild turkey like the Eastern Wild can be found just about anywhere in North America. Others, like the Gould turkey, are only found in specific locations. So if you wanted to hunt for Eastern Wild turkeys you could stay in your home state probably and have a lot of fun turkey hunting.

But if you want to hunt for Rio Grande or Gould turkeys you will need to make arrangements to travel to the locations where those turkeys can be found. If you are planning a hunting trip make sure that you have as much of the paperwork that you will need including license applications and supporting documents filled out and ready before you go.

If you can you should call ahead to see if you can get the license and permits you need in advance. If you are planning on going to another state to go turkey hunting it\'s always a good idea to see if there is a local hunting group or perhaps a vacation spot that specializes in hunting and can set up the whole hunt for your or at least help you get the permits and license that you need in order to hunt.

Taking a trip to another state or even another country like Mexico to go turkey hunting can be a lot of fun. It\'s a great family vacation for a family that enjoys the outdoors. Just make sure to plan ahead and get all of your paperwork out of the way as soon as possible so that nothing goes wrong with your trip. Learn more tips at http://turkeyhunting.bestofresults.com

When I was a kid, in the woods or on the river all the time, I listened to wild creatures around me and tried to imitate them.
